Katie Tranzillo

Since her first tap class at age four, Katie has enjoyed and studied dance, music, yoga, and movement arts. She has traveled all over the US to study with and get certified by master teachers and dancers, including the Mark Morris Dance Center, national leader in dance for people with Parkinson’s Disease.

She has been leading dance programs since 2001, for children, teens, adults, seniors, and for people with disabilities; from rote beginners to advanced dancers, in partnered, individual, and group dances. Residing in midcoast Maine, she is building a strong social dance community.

A licensed speech pathologist, she works effectively with all ages, as a therapist, consultant, supervisor and mentor. She brings together her professional training in how to teach adults, children, and those with disabilities, with her lifelong experience with dance, movement and music, to guide students in their own unique enjoyment of movement and dance.
